'Furious 7’ Box Office Projection News: Will Good Friday Effect Ticket Sales?

The highly anticipated movie 'Furious 7' was released on April 1 in some countries, while it was released on April 2 in some others. However, the movie is scheduled for release in the United States on April 3, which is also Good Friday.

IB Times reports that 'Furious 7' is slated for release in many countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Ecuador, Estonia, Spain, Latvia, Romania, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Turkey on Good Friday, but many fear that as far as its box office collection is concerned, the day may play spoilsport, particularly in Christian-dominated countries.

In fact, it may not be a very good idea to release a film in Christian-dominated regions during the Holy week, which started on Palm Sunday and ends on Saturday. This is because believers observe the occasion in penance, fasting, and prayer. During this period, many people may keep away from any kind of entertainment, which also includes movies.

Nevertheless, movie goers may also watch the film notwithstanding the occasion and some believe that it could break opening weekend records. A report by Variety states that the pre-sales of 'Fast & Furious 7' has been 34 percent more than 'Fast & Furious 6' on MovieTickets. Meanwhile, Fandango claimed that the movie could become the "biggest pre-seller for any April release in its history."

Undoubtedly, 'Fast & Furious 7' is undoubtedly one of the most-awaited movies this year for several reasons. Fans of Paul Walker will be eager to see their favorite actor on the big screen again. In fact, this is his last film, as he died in a tragic car accident in 2013 while the shooting of the film was in progress. Subsequently, the filmmakers had to rope in his brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker to complete the unfinished portion of his role.

The 'Fast & Furious 7' cast includes Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black and Jason Statham in the lead roles.
