'Fuller House' News: Michelle Tanner Character Will 'Still Have A Presence' On The Show
The 'Full House' spin-off series, 'Fuller House' plans to gear up without the inclusion of Mary-Kate and Ashley reprising the role as Michelle Tanner, although in a recent interview they've made it clear that won't be avoiding the character's existence.
Jodie Sweetin, actress to reprise the role of Stephanie Tanner, states that they will "still have a presence" on the show.
"It's not like were not talking about her," Sweetin told US Magazine. "I love and support [Mary-Kate and Ashley], and I think we're going to be just fine."
Mary-Kate and Ashley released a statement some weeks ago declining their involvement with the series, but cast members confirm that there is still no bad blood.
"Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family," executive producer Robert L. Boyett said in a statement to EW. "It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House."
Cast member John Stamos also responded to the statement in a Facebook post, clarifying his thoughts on the twins and the reason behind the spin-off series.
"Just so you reporters know - this is not a money gig for any of us. Quite the opposite. We want to give the fans what they deserve for supporting us for so many years," Stamos wrote. "We all just want to have fun - do it in a classy way on Netflix and have a good time. Sad that a few don't share the rest of the cast's opinion - I can only wish them the best."
'Fuller House' is set to premiere in July.
