French Montana recently spoke candidly in a new interview with XXL magazine. They covered a wide range of topics, his new album, 'Mac & Cheese', and his relationship with reality star Khloe Kardashian.

French Montana and Khloe Kardashian's relationship has always been covered by tabloids, forcing the duo to constantly fend off rumors. In a revealing statement, the singer spoke about his relationship and the lessons he learned.

"What I learned about relationships on this side is that they last longer when nobody knows your business. When nobody knows what's going on, it lasts longer," he said. "I'm very private when it comes to me and Khloé. Khloé is an amazing person; one of the best people I've ever met in my life. It definitely affects me in every way. It could be positive or it could be negative. It honestly just depends on if the media likes me that week. If the media likes you that week, it's a good week. If they don't like you, then it's a bad week. I try to stay away from it. Even when they express something negative and you want to say something so bad, you just protect yourself."

Meanwhile, Khloe Kardashian admitted on an episode of 'Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons', that she may have rushed into her relationship with rapper French Montana. The confession came after she heard that her hip hop boyfriend had been arrested in Chicago.

"French got arrested, but had the energy and time to Instagram a video and a still picture of it happening," she complained.

The romance between the two first sparked in spring last year, when they were spotted spending time together. They couldn't seem to part, throughout summer, as they enjoyed multiple romantic holidays including a trip to Las Vegas for Khloe's 30^th Birthday. But autumn brought news of a break-up of the celebrity couple.

In September, the duo tried to rekindle their romance and started spending time together. That same month, French told Us that the reality star will be his "baby forever" while attending Power 105.1's Powerhouse 2014 in NYC.
