Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao May 2 Fight News 2015: Boxers Promote Legendary Bout at LA Press Conference [VIDEO]
On Wednesday, March 11, legendary puglists Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather came face to face at a press conference in Los Angeles in order to promote their upcoming May 2 fight. This meeting will be the first and only time the two will square off, before they step into the ring with each other.
At the press conference, Manny Pacquiao arrived first and walked down the red carpet. He was clad in a dark suit that matched his purple tie. Soon after, Mayweather arrived in a light grey suit with a striped shirt on and posed for photos.
Pacquiao made it up on the stage first, followed by Mayweather who walked up to the tune of "We Will Rock You" by Queen.
Once the pair was up on stage, they came face to face and stared each other down for a total of 38 seconds. While boxing fans are excited to watch the match, they're not the only ones, as Pacquiao's coach Freddie Roach said, "This is the biggest challenge of my life and I've been looking forward to this for a long time. We are in the toughest fight of our lives, we are fighting the best fighter in the world."
It's important to note that despite the major backing and hype that surrounds the fight, both boxers were polite and respectful throughout the duration of the press conference.
"For the fans of boxing, I believe, this is what you are waiting for since five years ago. Both of us are going to undergo hard training for this fight and we will do our best on May 2 to make you happy," Pacquiao said.
On that note, Mayweather followed up with his own hype, he said "This is a fight the world can't miss," said Mayweather. "It is an unbelievable match-up. I'm in the gym working hard right now, dedicating myself to the sport because I've never wanted to win a fight so much in my life."
Soon after, the boxers got a chance to thank the people around them and the people that helped them get to the place they are today,
First off, I have to thank my father," said Mayweather, "Unbelievable trainer, unbelievable person. It has been a long road but here we are now. Al Haymon-remarkable guy."
Pacquiao said. "I want to thank all the Filipino fans who are watching at home. I want to thank Freddie Roach for being nice to me and Bob Arum," adding, "I want to let people know that God can raise someone from nothing to something-and that is me. I came from nothing to something and I owe everything to God."
The May 2 fight will be regarded as the richest in history, and will be the most expensive to see as ticket prices for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 2 will start at $1,500 in the rafters and climb up to $7,500 for ringside seats.
Last but not least, popstar Justin Bieber stepped onto the stage during the press conference and caught some of the spotlight, watch the video below:
