The Florida Gators will battle the East Carolina Pirates on January 3 at the Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

The game starts at 12:00 pm ET and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below (free for subscribers).

The Gators (6-5) are trying to avoid two consecutive losses when they encounter the Pirates in the Birmingham Bowl.

"Our guys know the challenge we have ahead of us. Everyone keeps mentioning all the stats and numbers, which are very impressive and eye opening. The most important thing to me, when you turn on the film, is that they have a group of guys who play the game the right way," said interim head coach D.J. Durkin to reporters.

"They play really hard and with great energy. They have great enthusiasm, and you can tell they take great pride in what is going on."

Previously, the Gators were defeated by the Florida State Seminoles by a final score of 24-19, after Florida QB Treon Harris went 13-32 for 169 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions in the loss on November 29.

Meanwhile, the Pirates (8-4) are seeking to prevent a possible two game losing streak when they clash with the Gators on Saturday afternoon.

East Carolina previously lost to their AAC division rivals UCF Knights by a final score of 32-30, after Pirates QB Shane Carden went 25-39 for 397 yards, which was underlined by three touchdown passes and two interception in the defeat on December 4.

"[Durkin has] been in it and been at some top places and done a great job on defense," said McNeill, whose team concluded the regular season with a 32-30 home loss to Central Florida.," said East Carolina coach Ruffin McNeill to reporters.
