'Five Nights At Freddy's' Movie News, Rumors: Warner Bros. Developing New Film Based on Indie Game

Warner Bros. has recently acquired the rights to 'Five Nights at Freddy's,' a popular indie horror game that the studio is currently developing a feature film for.

"The game was created by Scott Cawthon, and it takes place in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, which is a darker, more disturbing version of Chuck-E-Cheese. During the day the animatronic animal band performs kiddy songs, but when night rolls around they go on murderous rampages. The goal of the game is to survive a night locked inside, and at any moment a furry death machine could jump out of the dark," writes Geek Tyrant.

The movie will most likely be loosely adapted on this concept, as the original game doesn't have a story per se.

Seth Grahame-Smith will be one of the producers on this film, and he's made this statement:

"We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie."

Game creator Cawthorn also added:

"The story really lends itself to being a movie and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to."

As it stands, there is currently no release date for the the 'Five Nights At Freddy's' film.
