'Fitbit Flex' News & Update: Making Exercise Less Of A Chore?

A new feature in Fitbit will allow people who are in need of motivation to go on "adventures" while getting healthy in the process, according to the latest news report on the fitness aid device.

According to Seattle Times, the "Adventures" app will allow you to pretend that you are in some famous destination, instead of just around your block whenever you exercise.

The way it works is that the Fitbit app will flash actual trails-such as the Yosemite Park, for instance-and as you go around your neighborhood, you can "visit" a waterfall, or a lake, or going towards the giant sequoias when you make a turn.

The news article said that the Fitbit will also allow the user to simulate a race of the New York City Marathon.

Another feature of the new Fitbit allows a bit of competition for the user as he or she can compare the number of miles accomplished through the day. That gives another motivation for the user to "beat" that friend by going the extra step, so to speak.

In other news, Phone Arena said that the Fitbit Charge 2 won't wow in the aesthetics department but it's still much better than the first generation. The smooth and elegant look of the face is balanced by the sporty rubber wrist band.

Those who want to upgrade can opt for the Special edition, which may cost between $150 and $180. They can also purchase a separate leather band for an even more elegant look, but that will cost them around $70.
