Harper Lee News: First Photo of The Award-Winning ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ Author Released

Finally, for the first time in six years, award-winning author Harper Lee was recently seen in photos now circulating all over the world. Just in time for the release of the sequel of the epic 'To Kill A Mockingbird', titled 'Go Set a Watchman' in stores this coming July 14, 2015.

Although Lee wasn't really promoting the book, she however was seen to be quite serious and driven in the photo that recently surfaced. Lee was seen in her wheel chair with her glasses on talking with Mary McDonagh Murphy and Joy Lee while the three are all by the table with the hard copy of her latest book.

It seems like the three are very serious most especially the Pulitzer Prize-winning author who seemed to have aged well and at 89 years old, her works are still one of those that people in this day and age are looking forward to get a hold of.

The photo, which was taken in June at Lee's hometown in Monroeville, La., at the Prop & Gavel Restaurant surfaced because of the documentary Harper Lee: American Masters which will be premiered ahead of the book. Indeed a lot of people were amazed at their first sighting of the renowned author after years of being behind the limelight.

In those silent years, Lee's name was even involved in an issue claiming that her upcoming book, which was said to have written by the author even more 'To Kill A Mockingbird' in 1960 was released through the manipulation of other people and that Lee was not really planning on releasing any works anymore.

However, Lee's attorney reportedly negotiated a deal and that publishers have announced that the author was fully onboard. The issue resulted in an investigation into potential elder abuse since Lee was living at an assisted-living facility though there were no charges filed.

Lee's Documentary Harper Lee: American Masters airs on Friday night on PBS at 9:00 p.m.,
