'Final Fantasy XV' News: Game Director Hajime Tabata Explains All Male Cast

Fans are in constant anticipation with the release of 'Final Fantasy XV,' as not only will it be the first of the franchise to be on a next gen system, but it presents a new dimension to the main characters that we have not yet encountered.

The cast of 'Final Fantasy XV' will consist of all males, breaking the traditional gender mixed team of the franchise.

In a recent interview with Gamespot, game director Hajime Tabata sat down to discuss the uncommon approach he had with this title, he stated:

"Speaking honestly, an all-male party feels almost more approachable for players. Even the presence of one female in the group will change their behavior, so that they'll act differently. So to give the most natural feeling, to make them feel sincere and honest, having them all the same gender made sense in that way."

The male camaraderie he refers to comes out in the recent game footage, where in battle the character's don't only fight but interact with each other and show concern when one is in trouble.

"The world might be ready to see the curtain lifted on what boys do when girls aren't around, when they come out of the tent all prim and proper. That's kind of the idea behind it... we think, male or female player, that everyone will feel a certain connection and bond with the four characters."

He uses the phrase, "boys will be boys," to describe the game's demeanor.

As it stands, there is still currently no release date slated for the title.
