'Final Fantasy VII' HD Remake News: Series Director To Make More 'Final Fantasy' Remakes?

Fans most likely haven't yet ceased applauding the recent 'Final Fantasy VII' remake news, as it has been a long-awaited project by a multitude of gamers.

It wasn't long until critics started to wonder what other 'Final Fantasy' properties they could remake, and even if Square Enix was interested in the undertaking to begin with. Where would this remake lead them?

During a group interview session at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Venture Beat was able to speak one on one with Tetsuya Nomura, lead 'Final Fantasy' developer. He was asked if he was looking to make any other further titles in which he answers:

"Considering that we have remakes of Final Fantasy up to IV and then we have VII - I've been working with Mr. [Yoshinori] Kitase since Final Fantasy V, and we've noticed that V and VI are missing. That bothers me. How come we skipped over those two?"

This at least confirms his that he has taken an active interest in bringing these timeless games back into the mainstream.

"Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II had remakes on the Game Boy Advance and PSP, and Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy IV were on the Nintendo DS. Both the fifth and sixth installments of the franchise (which originally came out for the Super Nintendo) are beloved by fans. Final Fantasy VI is probably only behind VII in terms of popularity. And while they did have mobile releases, those only featured new art (that was arguably worse than the original). They have not received the same attention as their predecessors," writes Venture Beat.

There is currently no release date announced for the 'Final Fantasy VII' remake.
