'Final Fantasy VII' HD Remake News: Game To Make Dramatic Changes
News of the 'Final Fantasy 7' remake may some huge noise when the teaser trailer dropped at E3, however fans were pretty much left high and dry after that, as no further details were released on the game.
What we can expect is a new immersive gaming experience, as the remake is sure to test the limits of the next-gen gaming system.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura has actually confirmed the game undergoing "dramatic changes" in a recent interview with Official Playstation Magazine. When speaking of this he used the battle system as an example.
"We're not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that," Nomura explained. "We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it's still recognizable."
While this is still fairly vague, we can expect it to stray away from what we've already seen in recent 'Final Fantasy' titles. We can also definitely expect to not see a turn-based fighting system from the original 1997 game.
Nomura added by stating that he is drawing inspiration for the game from the 'Final Fantasy 7' film 'Advent Children.' He clarifies by saying the game will still be very different from that film, as it is almost 10 years old now.
"If the thought of something different-but-kinda-the-same brought to mind the 2005 film Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, you're not too far off from Nomura's own thinking. Nomura stated that the team will be looking to the movie - which Nomura also directed - for visual references and inspiration, but that he and his team "don't intend on utilising the 3D models of Advent Children as is because, well, it's a different technology, and it's actually been almost ten years since Advent Children was first released," Games Radar cited.
There is still currently no confirmed release date for this title.
