'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Release Date News Update: Game Arrives In 2018, Game To Change Combat System?

New details on the release date and gameplay of Square Enix's "Final Fantasy 7" remake have surfaced and as per reports, the game's release may be announced next year.

Square Enix might unveil the release date of "Final Fantasy 7" in early January, University Herald has learned. As per the publication, the anticipated timeline is feasible, since it is January when "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" hits store shelves. Also, this links to the game's 20th anniversary, another reason why the said release date seems logical.

In terms of gameplay, "Final Fantasy 7" Remake is set to showcase a "nerver-before-seen" system, as per University Herald. According to the publication,it would benefit players who are well-engaged with the game's action-themed combat. Moreover, players are set to see a "more realistic" Guard Scorpion, which they may see at the start of the game.

In a statement, as cited by Gematsu, game developer Tetsuya Nomura also teased that the combat system in the "Final Fantasy 7" Remake considerably changed from its predecessor. According to Nomura, the remake had more action than before and he would definitely have to explain the specifics of what the battle system had become to the players.

"I think right now that nobody is really able to imagine a concrete battle, so I'm in the middle of coming up with steps that I can show and explain to people.," Nomura said. "It's this kind of battle," he added.

Developed by Square, "Final Fantasy 7" was initially released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS in 1997.
