'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Release Date, News, Rumors: Yoshinori Kitase Says It Will Be 'Full-Scale' Game

The remake of "Final Fantasy 7" has been a talk for quite a while now. However, there is still no confirmed details about how the game will look like or how different will it be from the original game.

According to Tech Buffalo, the producer and director of "Final Fantasy 7" Yoshinori Kitase shared his insights on the development of the remake and was not hesitant to address its comparisons to Final Fantasy XIII.

"It will essentially be a full-scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory, in a sense. Whereas with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in the multi-part series... So if we're just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game," Kitase said (via Tech Buffalo).

The remake was said to be released for the PlayStation 4 first and then after, the rest of the gaming consoles. In other news, according to Engadget, the Final Fantasy XV will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting September 30. FFXV has high potential of bringing back success to the franchise who had their own set of struggles with their previous installments in the franchise.

"In past games, our staff typically thought that a numbered FF game is a very special game and brand," he said. "And that because they were working on it, they were special themselves. And we got rid of that idea completely with XV. We don't think that way at all," FFXV director Hajime Tabata said according to Engadget.
