'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Latest News: Play Arts Kai Reveals Figures?
According to IGN, Square Enix and Play Arts Kai are collaborating to work on a new line of figures based on the remake of "Final Fantasy 7."
Prototypes for the Cloud Strife and Barrett Wallace figures have been revealed at Japan's Jump Festa in December. Right now, there is no information yet on the official price of these figures and when they'll be released on stores worldwide. For enthusiastic fans who are eager to get a glimpse of the prototypes, they could visit NonSoloHobby's Facebook page. It is also posted on ToyArk.
Right now all we have are the Cloud and Barrett figures and there's no word yet on additional characters that will be included in the new line of figures.
"Final Fantasy 7" will be released as a multi-part series, but doesn't have an official launch date just yet. It was first released in 1997 by Square (now Square Enix) on the PlayStation console. A high definition remake was officially confirmed for the PS4. The game will be more than a high definition remaster; with director Tetsuya Nomura stating that the game will have changes made to its story and combat system.
Within just three days since the original game's release in Japan, the game had sold 2.3 million copies. Final Fantasy VII is also credited as "the game that sold the PlayStation." It allowed role-playing games to find their place in markets outside Japan.
GameSpot and IGN scored the game 9.5/10 for PlayStation, while Game Informer scored it 9.75/10 and Game Fan scored it with a perfect 300+/300.
