'Fifty Shades of Grey' Sequel Cast News: Author E.L. James' Husband, Niall Leonard, to Write Script

Rumors have just been confirmed that the script for the upcoming sequel of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', which was based on the novel written by E.L. James, will be written by James' husband Niall Leonard. With the staggering box office number, garnering a total of $85 Million in the first three days, it has been speculated that the sequel will get the same success if not more.

It is indeed yet another film to be excited about as reports say since the two lead characters, James Dornan as the famous Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele will be returning in the film with still an unknown premiere date.

"That was the great thing about this film-we knew we were going to be able to make stars," producer Dana Brunetti told THR of the two actors, "Now it's their opportunity to get paid on other projects. It's been a breakout role for both of them. I'm sure they are getting tons of offers on other things."

With Leonard who will pen the film's script it is seen to be even more exciting as the veteran script writer will bring a fresh flavor to the sequel. "Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty," producer Michael De Luca said in a statement to THR.

Leonard is known to have written several British TV shows like Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood. Not only that, Leonard is also a novel writer with works such as Crusher, Incinerator and Shredder.

Meanwhile, as someone is coming another one will be leaving. It has been reported that the film's director for 'Fifty Shades of Grey' will be leaving the directorial seat releasing a statement saying, "Directing Fifty Shades of Grey has been an intense and incredible journey for which I am hugely grateful," Sam Taylor-Johnson said in a statement.

"I have Universal to thank for that. I forged close and lasting relationships with the cast, producers and crew and most especially, with [Dakota Johnson] and [Jamie Dornan]. While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three," Taylor-Johnson added.
