The female group that consists of performers Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Normani Kordei Hamilton and Ally Brooke Hernandez have been working on their sophomore studio album according to ENSTARS.
In an interview with Spin, Lauren Jauregui opened up about their experience in working for a follow up album that will most likely launch in 2016.
"We don't want to make any promises, because we've had some situations in the past where our album release date got pushed and pushed and pushed," Jauregui said.
The 19-year-old performer doesn't want to promise any release date as of now since the album is still in-process.
"We don't want to disappoint fans, but it should be coming out in the beginning of the year. We're still working on it, putting final touches on it, making sure we've got all of the final tracks that we need. We're just starting that process now," she continued.
Jauregui confirmed that Tinashe also wrote a few songs on 5H2. She also said that the songs in the new album has a new feel compared to their previous one.
"It's not even more mature, I think it's just less gimmicky than last time, not to say that the music was, but in a sense, this sounds more honed in on a sound," she added.
Jauregui also said that the group is going for the "more urban, R&B vibes" and then tie bits of different genres to that R&B vibe but "not so strictly married to it."
