Feminist Video Showing Little Girls Dropping F-Bombs for 'A Good Cause' Causes Outrage [VIDEO]
A new video of young girls profusely cursing has gone viral in hopes to spread awareness for a "good cause."
"What is more offensive? A little girl saying f*** or the f****** unequal and sexist way," the young girls say in the Vimeo video.
The video is part of a campaign started by FCKH8. FCKH8 is a for-profit T-shirt company that has garnered attention for their activism pushing for social change. They hope to gain thousands of people with pro-LGBT equality, anti-racism, and anti-sexism T-shirts to act as "mini-billboards" for their cause.
Their latest video is tackling the subject of sexism. The little girls, probably ranging from ages of 6 to 13-years-old, are seen dressed in full princess garb, but cursing like a bunch of sailors.
"Facing a future where women are still paid 23% less than men for the same work, and where 1 in 5 women are raped or sexually assaulted in gender-based violence," the video's description reads, "little girls...dressed as pretty pink princesses drop F-bombs to draw attention to society's continued sexism."
According to the description, the princess look was meant to turn the "princess in distress" stereotype on its head and contrast the F-word with words and statistics society should find shocking such as "pay inequality" and "rape."
The end of the video also shows a 12 year-old boy wearing a pink gown "standing up against sexism" saying, "When you tell boys not to 'act like a girl,' it's because you think it's bad to be a girl."
Many have expressed their disapproval of the video. YouTube even took the video down because so many found it offensive. Many on social media have like wise stated that children being used to hatefully push this agenda, even if the information is valid, is unacceptable.
"Teaching little girls to curse and to parrot back bad propaganda is not empowerment," on commenter wrote, "It's cowardice on the part of adults who exploit children for their own political purposes. Everyone associated with this, but especially the parents, should be ashamed of themselves."
What are your thoughts on the video? Should children be used to push social issues, and should they do it in such a matter?
