Even as fans are keenly awaiting the premiere of 'The Walking Dead' Season 6 on AMC, the network will first treat them to a spin-off series 'Fear the Walking Dead.' Despite the excitement over the premiere of the new series in August, no one has asked a vital question - What will the new walkers look like?

IB Times reports that a new promotional video from the 'Fear the Walking Dead' sets show the creators and cast of the upcoming television series discussing what fans can expect from the show. In the video, special effects artist Greg Nicotero teases that the walkers of the upcoming show may look different from those in 'The Walking Dead.'

Nicotero said, "Here we have an opportunity to create a different palette, not only in terms of how the show looks and how the actors interact with each other, but how the walkers look."

Considering the difference in the time period of the two series, it would definitely be sensible if 'Fear the Walking Dead' re-imagines the zombies from 'The Walking Dead.'

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Erickson said that setting the show back to the period when the initial zombie outbreak took place would provide them plenty of room to re-imagine the universe. Even as Erickson is excited to explore deeper into the leading characters and watch society crumble around them, fans of blood and gore should expect new walkers.

As the show takes place in the initial zombie outbreak, it appears that Nicotero is hinting at more agile walkers, which are less decomposed and vulnerable to the elements similar to what Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) first discovered in Episode 1 of 'The Walking Dead.' It is possible that the fear in the new show will originate from what lies in wait in the shadows instead of enormous gory herds.

As of now, fans will have to wait until after 'Fear the Walking Dead' premiere in August to find out exactly what kind of monsters Nicotero and his team have in store for them.
