"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 episode 8 is expected to unravel the mysteries left by the previous episode titled "Shiva."

Speaking about Chris' meltdown, showrunner Dave Erickson recently told that the struggle was caused by his rickety past, particularly his parents' divorce which resulted in his unpleasant relationship with his father.

In the upcoming episode, Chris will seem alienated and will have to deal with the people around him who believe that he was the one who murdered Reed, primarily because of his screwy nature. It will also follow him as he struggles to fit in with the rest of the characters and join hands with Travis, who will continue to do all he can to protect his son. Viewers will see how these two characters fight the odds during the apocalypse in episode 8.

As the episode tries to dig deeper into the history of the characters, episode 8 will also explore the darker side of Madison.

In a recent interview, Erickson talked about her character in the upcoming episode.

"She has the ability to go to a violent place when the need arises," he said.

Moreover, Erickson revealed that the episode will show what happened to Nick after being separated from Strand and his family in episode 7. He further revealed that his shift in ideology was caused by his addictive personality, and that his lack of access to drugs was what made him shift his focus towards the dead.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 episode 8 airs on August 21 on AMC.
