'Fear The Walking Dead' News: Unique Crossover with ‘The Walking Dead,’ New Trailer Released [VIDEO]

Ahead of 'Fear The Walking Dead' premiere next month, AMC has released a new teaser for the fans of the zombie spin-off series.

IB Times reports that in March, the channel had given a go ahead for the show for two seasons, but the second one was not confirmed officially. Even as the fans wait for the premiere of the first season, AMC has confirmed a 15-episode order for Season 2, which is expected to premiere in 2016.

The opening episode of 'Fear The Walking Dead' will be an extended 90-minute episode on AMC Global channels across the world, while the season finale will be followed by a special episode of 'Talking Dead,' a live talk show to be hosted by Chris Hardwick.

Belonging to the same zombie universe of 'The Walking Dead,' 'Fear The Walking Dead' is a spin-off set in Los Angeles. The plot revolves around a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counsellor, and her two children as they prepare for the impending collapse of civilization in the initial stages of the zombie apocalypse.

Since AMC announced the 'Fear The Walking Dead,' fans have been crazily speculating about a possible crossover with 'The Walking Dead.'

Incidentally, the crossover did take place and in a very extraordinary manner. Fans have seen 'Fear the Walking Dead' meeting 'The Walking Dead' via a photograph posted on the show's official Twitter account. The photo was somewhat similar to a crossover between the cast members of the two shows and was captioned: '*mind explodes* @FearTWD meets #TheWalkingDead.'

Unfortunately, everyone who has been anticipating a crossover to occur may possibly be disappointed, as it is an unlikely thing. According to Movie Pilot, the timelines, a crossover is difficult owing to the location and other settings of the two shows.

Going by this conjuncture, the current season of 'The Walking Dead' is set roughly 547 days after the apocalypse in Georgia and 'Fear The Walking Dead' will be set in Los Angeles at the beginning of the zombie outbreak. The first season of 'Fear The Walking Dead' will concentrate on the time when fans saw Rick Grimes from in coma in 'The Walking Dead.'

'The Walking Dead' Season 6 will premiere on Oct. 11 this year, while 'Fear The Walking Dead' is set to premiere with an extended 90-minute episode on AMC on Aug. 23. The finale is scheduled on Oct. 4.
