‘Fear the Walking Dead’ News: New Video Clip Reveals How a Zombie Apocalypse Took Over [VIDEO]
Fans of 'The Walking Dead,' the horror television drama series on AMC, have been eagerly waiting for more information on the upcoming prequel series 'Fear the Walking Dead.' While a short trailer released last week failed to quench their thirst for more details, AMC has just released another video clip to whet the appetite of the fans.
A report in Latin Post states that the trailer released last week was somewhat vague showing Nick (Frank Dillane), a scared young man running to escape from something that is not shown in the clip.
Deadline reports that while the first trailer was meant to create hype, this week, the show runners released another trailer that offers the fans an exclusive look at what actually took place prior to the zombie apocalypse taking over the world.
'The Walking Dead' show runners and creator Robert Kirkman are also at the helm of the upcoming prequel spin-off series on AMC and they are reported to have committed to the new show as a "rule-centric" series, which will follow all the statutes laid down in the original series - 'The Walking Dead.'
As mentioned in earlier reports, the prequel series is set in Los Angeles and the events takes place prior to the rise of the zombies as well as complete turmoil. The new video clip presents the initial uncertainty that followed the series of events that spread out around the city and the nation.
The clip shows a young student is talking to a guidance counselor (Kim Dickens of "Treme") regarding his apprehensions as well as what he has been reading on the Internet. He talks about the killings taking place with reports in five states.
The student is seen telling the guidance counselor, "They don't know if it's a virus or a microbe. They don't know, but it's spreading. No, people are killing." In response, she says with naive skepticism that the government would tell them if it was true.
In an interview with Vulture, Kirkman revealed that the series will be more family focused, instead of focusing on the angles of surviving a zombie apocalypse. It will deal with the emotional angle where the characters still care more about people. Kirkman also said that the zombies too will have fresher and less decomposed faces in "Fear the Walking Dead.'
