'Fear The Walking Dead' News: AMC Releases New Poster for 'The Walking Dead' Spin-Off Series
In a new poster that AMC has released for its new 'The Walking Dead' companion series, 'Fear the Walking Dead', it looks like a basketball game is about to take a turn for the worse.
The network chose a sepia filter for the poster, which is reminiscent of the hazy climate of Los Angeles.
In the poster, a walker is seen heading toward a group of players that seems to have no idea what is coming.
The first extensive look at the series came during the San Diego Comic Con. Anticipation for the new zombie series has been steadily building, as its premiere date on August 23rd approaches.
The series will chronicle the events leading up to the beginning of 'The Walking Dead', including the phase before the apocalypse.
Viewers will see the gradual decline of society just as zombie attacks begin to break out in Los Angeles.
The cast of 'Fear the Walking Dead' took the stage at San Diego Comic Con along with a group of producers from the show, who all worked on 'The Walking Dead'.
The group spent most of the panel talking about the differences between their show and its hit predecessor.
"Rick in The Walking Dead is such an alpha," said David Alpert, who is executive producing on the show. "A sheriff, trained in weapons, he has a clear sense of right and wrong. It's easy to envision that guy as a leader."
According to Alpert, Robert Kirkman, the co creator of The Walking Dead and Dave Erickson came up with a more average Joe character for the new series.
"What about someone who's an English teacher, or a guidance counselor?" added Alpert.
