'Fast & Furious 8' Cast & Plot Rumors: Vin Diesel Teases New Trilogy; Will Cara Delevingne Be Cast As New Villain?

Fans of the 'Fast & Furious' movie franchise will be delighted to know that latest reports claim production of the next installment, 'Fast & Furious 8' is already underway. In fact, there have been numerous speculations regarding the upcoming flick's cast and plot ever since Vin Diesel confirmed the sequel to 'Fast & Furious 7.'

IB Times reports that Diesel, who portrays the character of Dom Toretto in the film series, has revealed some about the next installment. Latest reports state that Vin Diesel has posted his photograph alongside Kurt Russell in, what seems to be, the set of 'Fast & Furious 8,' and captioned it: "Toretto Tuesday."

While producer Neal Moritz has supposedly said that the screenplay for the upcoming film is still being developed, Diesel's photo gives a clear that work already commenced on 'Fast & Furious 8' and that Russel has returned to portray Mr Nobody.

In fact, fans liked Russell's character in 'Furious 7' very much and the actor had earlier mentioned in his interview with Jimmy Kimmel that he may return to the franchise for an expanded role in more than one film.

According to Russel, the fate of Mr Nobody was kept open-ended in 'Furious 7' as Diesel had big plans for the guy in the upcoming movies. In a recent interview, the actor said, "I got an idea; a sense of what Vin maybe wants to do in the future that this character could be a good part of. We created somebody that I think is, you know, he's a mystery man, he's 'Mr. Nobody' we never know his name and you never know quite what world he's in and I think that's what's fun and exciting about it."

Viewers will recall that even producer Neal had previously stated that 'Fast 8' will be the start of a new trilogy. Therefore, if the character of Mr Nobody has been planned for more than one film and if 'Fast 8' will be the first movie of a new trilogy, it is likely that Vin Diesel's photo, confirming Kurt Russell's return in the franchise, suggests that there may possibly be more than one film in the future.

In the meantime, some reports state that Cara Delevingne may possibly join as a new member of the Toretto family since Mia is gone. Towards the end of 'Fast & Furious 7,' Mia was seen leaving with Brian O'Connor.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that Cara wants to play villain and therefore, may possibly end teaming up with Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the villain in 'Furious 7.' However, a number reports have also claimed that Shaw may change his mind and join Dom Toretto instead.

As of now, the producers have not confirmed any detail regarding 'Fast & Furious 8' plot and, hence, these should only be considered as rumors.

'Fast & Furious 8' is slated for April 14, 2017 release.
