'Fast and Furious 8' Release Date, Cast News: Actor Lucas Black’s Character Returns As Dominic Toretto’s Racing Buddy
In line with F. Gary Gray's upcoming action car racing film "Fast and Furious 8," also known as "Fast 8," it has been revealed that Lucas Black's character is set to take over as Dominic Toretto's racing buddy.
As per Christian Today, Black will possibly reprise his role as Sean Boswell in Gray's "Fast 8," provided that the actor had signed an agreement that requires him to return to the film sequel and his character should be included in the film narrative. The publication added that this detail has led fans speculating that Boswell is set to be Toretto's new road buddy.
According to the publication, Boswell could be worthy to take over Walker's Brian O'Conner, despite lacking a strong bond with Toretto when compared to the latter. It is assumed that "Fast 8" could set up Boswell and Toretto's encounter with a conflict, requiring the latter's team another skillful car racer.
Black's character is also revealed to be the racing buddy of Justin Bieber's character in "Fast 8," according to Australia Network News (via Master Herald). As per the publication, Bieber role was initially filled in by Australian actress Ruby Rose, since she resembled the "Love Yourself" singer. Despite this, Bieber is reportedly cast in the film to draw the attention of his fans to the film.
Along with its cast updates, "Fast 8" has also been rumored to feature new car models. Previously, it has been revealed that the film is set to see cars like Rally Fighter, Murcielagos, and the Lamborghini Imprezas, along with the Corvette Grand Sport, 1987 Buick GNX, Jensen Interceptor, 1971 Chevrolet Monte CarloRB-Swapped, 1967 Ford Mustangand, and Mazda RX-7, among others.
Gray's "Fast 8" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Apr. 14, 2017.
