Now that Furious 7 has hit theaters, there have been rumors about the stars who will make up the cast of the upcoming Fast & Furious 8. Rumor has it, Eva Mendes who starred in 2 Fast 2 Furious, will be one of the main characters in the series' next film.

This information comes from the Instagram page of Latino-Review's El Mayimbe, who said the actress made an appearance in a stinger for 'Fast Five' and is possibly going to come back for the eighth movie in the franchise.

According to Collider, El Mayimbe composed an Instagram post with the caption: "FAST & FURIOUS 8 #RUMOR With #fast7 now in the record books, the upcoming NY based #Fast8 story will depend on whether they can bring back Eva Mendes' character: US Customs Agent Monica Fuentes.

Some say that bringing Mendes back to be a part of the cast is a great move on the part of the directors because she has previously been introduced into the series. This means that her connection with other characters will allow her character a natural merging with the plot.

In addition to this, Fast & Furious will uphold its reputation of having one of the most racially diverse casts for a major blockbuster series, as well as one that is full of well liked actors and actresses.

As far as Mendes' career, it will be a nice role for her to reprise, as she has not starred in an action film since The Spirit, and is more known for her role in romantic comedy films.

This will be her first time acting in a major action franchise, and it will be interesting to see whether her character will play a central role in Fast 8, and whether she will continue to appear in the sequels as well.
