'Fast and Furious 7' Spoilers: Jason Statham Portrays Main Antagonist Ian Shaw Seeking to Avenge Brother’s Murder
While the terrible death of Han in a car crash in the final scene of 'Fast and Furious 6' left the fans a devastated lot, another shock was still waiting for them. In fact, the fans were surprised to see Jason Statham moving towards the accident-hit car of Han and then calling Dom (Vin Diesel) on the phone to tell him "You don't know me. You are about to."
According to Christian Today, the moviegoers had no idea why Statham killed Han or why he is pursuing Dom and his crew. However, they eventually came to know that Statham would be in main antagonist in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise.
At the end of 'Fast and Furious 6' fans got to know that Statham was actually portraying the character of Ian Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw, who was killed by Dom and his gang. Now, Ian is out for revenge and a new photograph uploaded on the Facebook page of 'Fast and Furious 7' with the caption "Jason is ready, are you?" reveals his stern face and mission.
No doubt, the fans are ready for the next installment of the 'Fast and Furious' franchise, which takes the film to an entire new level for the fans are aware of the 47-year-old British actor's potential in dealing with action scenes.
The website reports that while Statham did not talk much about his character in 'Fast and Furious 7', however, he did talk highly about his co-actors in the movie.
Talking to the Entertainment Weekly, Statham said, "There's nothin' better than that car stuff. I've never seen anything to compare to it. And Vin is terrific. Everybody in it is just terrific. They're a great little crew ... I've met all of them, and they're all really cool. I'm really excited to be involved with it ... I'm just not gonna tell ya what I'm gonna do."
The respect seems to be mutual for Vin Diesel, as he too said great things about Statham's work in the movie. In an interview with E! Online, Vin said, "He's incredible. The amount of work that he did for our third act fight sequence, I was just so happy that he was just so gung ho about it and so dedicated."
'Fast and Furious 7' is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
