'Fast and Furious 7' Premiere Canceled News: Vin Diesel Postpones Debut - Conflict with Third Baby's Due Date

March 10 was supposed to be the premiere for the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise. However, due to the arrival of his third child, selling point actor Vin Diesel would not be attending the event and therefore the studio decided to cancel the premiere.

The Emirates palace in Abu Dhabi was to host the premiere. The city was a key shooting location for the film. Sources say that the premiere will now take place in Los Angeles, where the franchise had started, on April 1.

Diesel, 47, and his girlfriend Paloma Jiménez, 31, are expecting their third child, who is due to arrive between March 10 and April 3. A source told the Hollywood Reporter, "He wants to be with his family at the birth; it's a beautiful thing. What human being wouldn't?" Diesel and Jiménez also have a daughter, six-year-old Hani Riley, and son, four-year-old Vincent Sinclair.

Diesel is notoriously private with his family as he is rarely seen with them in public and does not announce any family news throughout various social media sites and other websites.

The film centers on street racers Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Walker). With the tragic death of Paul Walker, the production of Fast and Furious 7 was delayed. Walker was killed in a car crash in November 2013 and the Fast and Furious team had to get creative with the rest of the filming for the seventh movie. The film also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris.

According the Hollywood Reporter, the franchise has earned $2.38 billion worldwide since the first film, with Fast and Furious 6 earning $788.7 million worldwide in 2013.
