'Fashion Police' News: Melissa Rivers Joins Series as a Co-Host

It has been confirmed that Melissa Rivers will be carrying on her late mother, Joan Rivers', legacy as a part of Fashion Police.

The 47 year old actress and philanthropist will be joining Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski as a new co-host on the E! talk show, while continuing in her role as the show's executive producer.

She will make her debut as a Fashion Police co host on August 31st, when the show returns to cover the fashion at MTV's Video Music Awards.

Each week, the three regular co hosts of the show will be joined by two celebrity guest stars.

Jeff Olde, the E! Executive Vice President of programming and development stated that Melissa helped to build the foundation of the show.

"As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape Fashion Police into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy," said Olde in a statement. "We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the Fashion Police cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode."

Melissa herself is very excited to begin in her new role on the show. The show was put on hiatus after Katy Griffin who was cast as Joan's replacement left the show after only a few months.

She left shortly after Kelly Osbourne relinquished her role after five years, following Giuliana's comment about Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks at this year's Oscars.
