'Far Cry Primal' PS4 Release Date: Launching On Feb. 23, Game Features Bring 10,000 BCE, Starts With Mammoth Encounter

"Far Cry Primal" is set to transport gamers and fans to primitive time, with its primordial features and missions.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, "Far Cry Primal" is going to be relatable to gamers, as game developers and experts discussed how the language and character dynamics are linked to human understanding of man's way of life in 10,000 BCE. As per the publication, players could choose from interesting characters to face wild animals and tumultuous situations.

Set in the wild and unexplored parts of the modern era, "Far cry Primal" lives in a no-weapon and no-vehicle premise, forcing players to adapt Charles Darwin's theory of "survival of the fittest." Players will also be explored to a ancient realm characterized by the world's and man's dark side.

As per Eurogamer, "Far Cry Primal's" first story mission opens with a mammoth hunt, with main protagonist Takkar and his tribe attempts to obtain food on their way to the fictional locale called Oros. They are set to compete with tigers, which attacked the tribe, leaving Takkar to fight for his survival.

In his interview with IGN, "Far Cry Primal" lead writer Kevin Shortt said that Primal was a full-on "Far cry," adding that the main campaign was around 30 hours. He also mentioned that they had created a whole new world inhabited by flora and fauna. He added that it was a full game that one would realize that he just spent a bit of time in the game to realize it was something huge.

"Far Cry Primal" is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Feb. 23 while the game's primordial offshoot is set to be on March 1.
