‘Far Cry: Primal’ New Trailer, Release Date News: Ubisoft Releases New Trailer [VIDEO]
Gamers everywhere have been graced by Ubisoft with their official trailer release for their upcoming title, 'Far Cry: Primal'. As it stands, the release date for the upcoming installment is slated for February 23, 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is followed by a PC release in March.
For those that may not know, the game is described as a "full-fledged single-player experience." The game is set in 10,000 BC, a time when woolly mammoths and sabertooth tigers roamed the Earth. The gamer takes on the role of Takkar who's a hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group. The game takes place in an area called Oros, and the main goal is survival.
"They will meet a cast of memorable characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild," Ubisoft stated, "Players will journey as the first human to tame the wilderness and rise above extinction.
They went on to add, "Along the way, they will have to craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts, hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators and face off agains other tribes to conquer Oros."
In the official 'Far Cry: Primal' trailer, Takkar is seen taking down a woolly mammoth using spears and arrows. In an effort to kill the beast, Takkar and his hunting party are attacked by a sabertooth tiger. The trailer then goes on to show the player being attacked by a rival tribe deep within a dense forest type area.
According to Jean-Christophe Guyot, 'Far Cry: Primal' creative director, "Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless, and savage frontier. The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it's the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself."
