‘Fantastic Four’ Movie Update: FOX Releases New Trailer, Philip Glass to Compose Music [TRAILER]
The recent release of the first trailer of 'Fantastic Four' by Fox has not only generated new expectations among the fans, but also created immense anticipation for the upcoming film. In fact, the recent announcement that the famous composer Philip Glass will be doing the score for the film alongside Marco Beltram is what has boosted the expectations further.
A report in Latin Post says that 'Fantastic Four' director Josh Trank has made known that he has always been a fan of Glass' music and was really thrilled to work with the renowned composer. In an interview with Collider, Trank said that he had to convince Glass to work on the film. According to the director, he called the composer and sent him his first film 'Chronicle.'
Trank said, "I got his number from his manager, I sent him 'Chronicle' and had a call with him. It was one of the coolest calls I've ever had in my life because he's Philip Glass and he had just watched my movie."
The director further told Collider, "The first words out of his mouth were, 'I just saw your movie and it's very philosophical.' We were talking about the philosophy of 'Chronicle' and it gave me goosebumps. We invited him out to set and he came to set for like three days and had a great time. He was blown away by the scale of the film. I've been working with him for almost a year now and he's so inspiring. He's such a humble, amazing guy."
It is worth mentioning here that Glass, who has never worked on a blockbuster earlier, is known to be very specific with the projects he opts to work for. In fact, Glass' last American films include Woody Allen's 'Cassandra's Dream' and 'No Reservations.' The composer has been nominated for the Academy Award thrice for his work on 'Kundun,' 'The Hours,' and 'Notes on a Scandal.' Earlier, Glass also scored for films like 'The Truman Show,' 'The Illusionist' and 'Secret Window.'
Meanwhile, the storyline of 'Fantastic Four' revolves around four young scientists who achieve superhuman abilities following a teleportation experiment that goes amiss. In the upcoming movie, they use their superhuman abilities to save the world from an uprising tyrant. Simon Kinberg has written the film, which stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell, in addition to Tim Blake Nelson and Toby Kebbell.
