'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Cast News: Casting List for Harry Potter Spin Off Released
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Harry Potter spinoff film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is negotiating with Eddie Redmayne to play the lead role of Newt Scamander.
Recently, there has been some more reports about casting for two female lead roles in the film.
Warner Bros is finally settling on their short list for each part. Kate Upton, from The Other Woman, Katherine Waterston of Inherent Vice, and Elizabeth Debicki of The Great Gatsby are said to be the studios top choices for the role of Queenie.
For Queenie's younger sister, Tina, Warner Bros is considering Saoirse Ronan of Lost River, Dakota Fanning who has starred in Every Secret Thing, among other films, Lili Simmons of Banshee and Alison Sudol from Dig.
At this time, there has been no further character details released. In another report, it has been revealed that Warner Bros is also casting the role of Jacob, the main antagonist in the film and Newt Scamander's rival.
For that role, some of the actors being considered are Steve Zissis from Her, Zack Pearlman from The Virginity Hit and Dan Fogler from Barely Lethal.
It is not known as yet whether any of the actors or actresses mentioned will be available to fill the roles, but many of them already have their test deals in place, with Eddie Redmayne reading alongside them, for next week.
There may be other actresses and actors being considered for the roles as well, but no other specific names have been released so far.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be the first of a trilogy.
