'Fallout 4' Release Date Rumors, News: Bethesda to Launch Game in 2016?

Plenty questions still circulate around the release of Bethesda's anticipated title, "Fallout 4," but a year has passed since the day it was announced and there's still no confirmation on a release date.

According to sources at The Fuse Joplin who visited the CES 2015 event, players can expect the release to be by 2016 at the earliest.

"While it is a good one year to go, it should definitely be considered early because fans have been waiting to know a possible release date for this most anticipated title for months. But, there were no updates from the developers or the people who owned the franchise," writes Fuse Joplin.

It is expected for the software company to drop two big titles that year, including the new "Elder Scrolls 6."

"Bethesda has also started hiring people to work in their new Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 4 projects. They have not explicitly revealed this because it might create more anticipation in the gaming community. Instead, they simply had casting calls made for lead voice actors and an AAA title with an RPG background. All hints point to a possible Fallout without doubt but the company continues to maintain its silence as it always does," writes Fuse Joplin.

This at least the game's development and that it hasn't been halted or abandoned.

The previous game in the franchise, "Fallout: New Vegas" came out nearly six years ago. All the games follow a post-apocalyptic survival theme, and in an interview with Eurogamer, the lead designer for "New Vegas" commented on what he'd like to see in "Fallout 4."

"A lot of stuff I did in New Vegas was to try and make choices feel more impactful and meaningful and to challenge the player," he said, "Some people want to go through the wasteland like a tourist, which is fine - they don't really want it to be super-difficult. They want it to be interesting and engaging, and they want to see a lot of neat stuff and go through a cool story. And that's cool."
