"Fairy Tail" chapter 493 is expected to see the return of Gildarts. And since the Fairy Tail gang is headed for Mavis' location, fans may anticipate an impending clash with Zeref.

In the previous chapter of the popular manga, Mirajane overpowered the minions of Eileen, Heine and Julie. The events did not seem to side with her at first, but she started to gain an advantage following an ultimate transformation.

Eileen was left surprised by how everything turned out. Later in the chapter, it was revealed that Heine and Julie were nothing but swords cast with magical spells.

While it remains unknown if Eileen really cared for them or just used them as pawns, some reports claim that if Eileen really had a strong bond with the two, then that would lead to an inevitable confrontation between her and Mirajane. Fans speculate that if this battle happens, there is a slim chance for Mirajane to defeat the Scarlet Despair due to her overwhelming abilities.

Spoilers for the chapter suggest that if Mirajane gets defeated, Ezra might step in. Since Ezra possesses greater power than Eileen, there are speculations that it might be easier for him to take down the villain for good.

Rumors also have it that the upcoming chapter will follow Gildarts as he finds his way back to Fairy Tail, following his absence.

It is also believed that upon heading to where Mavis is, Zera and the rest of the Fairy Tail gang will be warned by Zera that a fight may be in the offing, since Mavis is with Zeref.
