Fun Band 2015 News: Lead Singer Nate Ruess Seeks Solo Career with Release of New Snippet?
The band fun. has enjoyed some mild success, largely due to the their sophomore album, 'Some Nights', but it would seem that the lead singer Nate Ruess has solo aspirations.
Talk about the singer leaving the group to pursue a solo career has been rumored up until recent when he released a snippet of his new solo single, "Nothing Without Love."
Ruess released a teaser video featuring him lying in the ocean singing a piece of the song a capella.
"The 28-second a cappella clip promos Monday's full release. It arrives on the heels of rumors that a 'clash of egos' has prompted the platinum-selling 'Some Nights' trio to take a hiatus," writes Huffington Post.
There are no confirmed statements as to why the group has decided to disband, but the group posted a note on Facebook addressing the issue.
"Fun is not breaking up," the memo read, "'Some Nights' was a successful album and it would have been very easy for us to jump back in the studio and capitalize on our momentum. But making records and touring when its 'good for business' means nothing to us. We make records and tour when we are inspired to do so."
