MTV's new series, 'Eye Candy', premieres Monday, January 12^th at 10 pm. The series stars Victoria Justice as the leading lady, and details the life of a twenty-one-year old who excels in hacking as she tries to untangle the knots pertaining to the schemes of a murderer in Manhattan.

On that note, it seems as though MTV may be catering to the younger, tech-savvy generation with 'Eye Candy'. While Justice is mostly known from Nickelodeon shows, playing sweet and sassy characters, the new series might require a more serious role. 'Eye Candy' is centralized on computer codes and smartphones and is applicable to many teenagers' lives.

The recent scoop on 'Eye Candy' is that the show will involve some romance between Lindy (played by Justice,) and Tommy, who is portrayed by actor Casey Deidrick. Lindy and Tommy are partners in bringing baddies to justice, and while their relationship begins as platonic, the first season will see Tommy identifying his feelings for Lindy as belonging to something more than just the "friend zone."

Throughout the show, Lindy will have romantic relationships with many guys, most likely in a grand scheme to hunt down the killer. The show promises to be intense in drama, both in terms of Lindy's crime-busting pursuits, and her interests in men. While Tommy may be on the back burner for now, by the end of the first season, things begin to heat up between him and Lindy.

'Eye Candy' seeks to be a thriller for young adults, and is a departure from MTV's usual, lighter fare, such as reality and competition shows. The eerie factor is turned way up for 'Eye Candy', as it is meant to entertain the audience as well as creep them out.
