'Ash vs. Evil Dead' Spoilers, Release Date Rumors: New 'Evil Dead' TV Series to Premiere in 2015?

If you haven't yet heard, the famed movie series, 'Evil Dead', is now in the works as a new and upcoming television series on Starz network. The official title for the upcoming series is 'Ash vs. Evil Dead'.

On that note, some details about the Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell horror series have surfaced from an interview Starz head Chris Albrecht had with IGN.

The most prominent piece of information perhaps was the thirty minute runtime for the episodes. This came to a shock for many fans as the kind of show the series is projected to be seems it wouldn't adapt well in a half hour.

"The half hour idea was their idea. And I can tell you it's a chock-full half hour." Chris Albrecht told IGN.

Beyond that, Albrecht also promised some interesting locations the show will be shot at.

"We are shooting it in New Zealand. We'll have to import some cars that drive left hand and import some signs because it kind of takes place in classic American towns or cities."

In an interview with EW, Campbell expanded on explaining the show's premise, while referencing AMC's 'The Walking Dead' zombie drama.

"It's about as big of a counterpart to Walking Dead as you could program because Walking Dead is unrelentingly grim and hugely popular. We're going to give people a little of the old fashioned slapstick: horror and comedy. The beauty of Starz is there's no content issues. Let's face it: fans want the carnage and the mayhem. So we intend to give them quite the explosion of viscera. Most of it directed at me, unfortunately."

He also went on to explain the relationships the characters will have with the main character, Ash.

"One is a male-bonding situation, and the other is a father-figure deal, since Ash could have a daughter the same age as this character. Hopefully we'll pull Ash out of his loner-veteran mode and get him back into being a human being again."

Last but not least, Albrecht expects 'Ash vs. Evil Dead' to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2015.
