Eva Longoria, age 40, and Jesse Metcalfe, age 36, still have the spark that got fans of Desperate Housewives all hot and bothered. After Metcalfe left the show in 2009, the on-screen couple had stayed good friends off-screen, and they recently met up again at a cooking class that Longoria hosted in Los Angeles on August 22.

At the event, the friends showed that what they shared on-screen was the real deal, and it still sizzles on, but this time only as friends.

In the inaugural season of ABCs Desperate Housewives, Longoria's character Gabrielle Solis had a passionate affair with Metcalfe's John Rowland, the teenage gardener who tended the garden for her and her husband.

Gabrielle turned to John for solace when she felt her marriage wasn't fulfilling her emotional needs. The illicit affair broke up at the end of the season, but Metcalfe's character stayed on until season 6.

According to Daily Mail, Metcalfe came to the cooking class with girlfriend Cara Santana and Longoria hung out with the couple through the class.

After the event, Longoria posted a sweet Instagram picture of her and Metcalfe. She wrote: "Look who I ran into today! My favorite gardener!!! #DH#OneOfMyFavPpl."

Longoria's boyfriend Jose Antonio Barton was not at the event. Longoria has kept busy since Desperate Housewives wrapped for good in 2012.

She is an executive producer for Devious Maids and has starred in numerous roles including a three-episode arc in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Metcalfe has starred in a few TV shows that have now been cancelled. The most memorable were Chase and Dallas.
