'Empire' Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Jamal Moves On, Set To Face With Lucious?

Jamal is set to move on, but he is also bound to come face to face with Lucious in "Empire" season 3.

"Empire" creator Ilene Chaiken herself confirmed that Jamal is on his path to a new journey in season 3. In her interview with TV Line, she said that the third season would center on examining the journey of the character's recovery. It can be recalled in "Empire" season 2 finale that Jamal came out of the hospital after he was shot; however, the character had not yet recovered physically and mentally.

According to Chaiken, a clarification at this point is whether Jamal could bring his family along with him on the path to recovery, telling them that it was no longer how they had to go about their lives and their business.

In other news, it is also assumed that "Empire" season 3 is set to feature a theme of light versus dark, according to International Business Times. As per the publication, Jamal will represent the light while Lucious is set to signify the dark. In line with this, Jamal's survival is also set to yield a major impact in the season's story, along with an arc that covers Jamal and D-Major's dynamics.

It is also revealed that Freda Gatz is not set to be in "Empire" season 3. It can be recalled that the character was imprisoned in season 2 and its impact on the storyline is yet to be revealed. While the character is not set to return, it is revealed that Shyne Johnson will have a come back and create problems, along with Lucious' mother, who returns to plague him.

"Empire" season 7 is set to be launched in 2017.
