Some members of the Lyons clan will start to build romantic connections in the upcoming episode of "Empire" season 3.

The official synopsis for episode 4 teases that Cookie and Angelo's spark will grow stronger, but as Lucious takes notice of this, he will try to get in the way. In the promo video for the episode, Angelo takes Cookie to a fancy event and tells her that he believes he could make things work. At some later point during the clip, however, Lucious faces Angelo and tells him that Cookie will always come back to him.

The synopsis also hints that Hakeem will set his sights on a new female character named Nessa. It can be recalled that in the previous season, Hakeem was left at the altar on the day of his wedding. While he is now ready to move on, it looks like Nessa does not have the same feelings for him, as she has eyes for another member of the Lyon clan. The episode 4 preview reveals that Nessa is more interested in Andre.

Episode 4 will also see the return of Anika. The synopsis for the episode reveals that she will finally get her wish and return to work at Empire, but will cause turmoil as soon as she enters its doors. The episode also follows Jamal as he makes a big stride towards conquering his post-traumatic stress when he faces his shooter, Freda Gatz.
