'Empire' Season 2 Episode 10 left fans uncertain and wondering whether pregnant Rhoda survived the fall or not. In line with this, Empire showrunner Ilene Chaiken shed light on the incident.

'Empire' Season 2 Episode 10 was entitled "Et Tu, Brute," and saw Rhoda lying at the foot of the stairs, since she was pushed down.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chaiken said that they hoped the baby survived and Rhonda survived. The showrunner added that depending on the outcome of those events, how Rhonda and Andre would repair themselves was going to be a big part of the story for the second half of the season. 

Chaiken added the succeeding events may also see Rhonda and Andre figuring out if the incident had been an accident or a cruel twist of fate. For the 'Empire' showrunner, whether it had been something that God had meant to happen or that somebody had done to them for some other nefarious reason, was going to be part of a very big story for the audience.

With regards to whether Anika was the one who pushed Rhonda, Chaiken gave a vague answer. In an interview with TV Line, the 'Empire' showrunner said that they had not shown the audience a face yet. She added that while they knew, the world has not yet known how Rhonda had wounded up at the bottom of the staircase.

Chaiken also pinpointed that she was well aware that Anika would have been the prime suspect in the minds of the fans and they knew they had given her some motive; however, it was not an inevitable conclusion that Anika had done it.

With fans unsure about who made Rhonda's fall and its consequences, 'Empire' Season 2 Episode 11, entitled "Death Will Have His Day," is set to see a teary-eyed Andre in the hospital.

The upcoming episode airs Mar. 30, 2016.
