Meanwhile, 'Empire' showrunner Ilene Chaiken also shared some details regarding the show's second season. Chaiken elucidated that while Season 1 focused on who would inherit the throne, Season 2 will concentrate on how the kingdoms interact as there is a new person is in charge now.
Now that Chris Rock has come on board the show, 'Empire' fans can also expect to see Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz take on roles too.
Tthe star-studded cast notwithstanding, Chaiken maintains that 'Empire' aims to remain true to its story regarding family and not the celebrities who join the cast.
Elucidating, Chaiken said, "The biggest challenge, I feel, is to stay true to the stories, to stay true to the characters." She added, "To make sure that Empire continues to be about this family and these relationships and not to loose sight of that in the midst of all of the fabulous opportunities to bring great guest stars onto this show which we are going to do, but 'Empire' is the Lyons."
