Rapper Eminem News: 'Berzerk' Singer Visits Dying Teen to Fulfill His Final Wish

Recently, popular rap star Eminem paid a visit to a dying fan in Rochester Hills, Detroit, fulfilling the ailing fan's final wishes.

17-year-old Gage Garmo, who was suffering from a rare form of bone cancer, passed away a day after his idol, Eminem paid him a visit.

Garmo as diagnosed with bone cancer in 2010, when he was in his freshman year of high school. The aggressive cancer became so severe that his leg was amputated in a measure to stop the disease. Despite the amputation, the disease recurred and had spread to his lungs, according to the Oakland Press, a suburban Detroit newspaper.

Garmo's parents, who were working with The Rainbow Connection, a Michigan-based charity organization that is involved in working towards fulfilling the last wishes of children with life threatening illnesses, put up a campaign to get the message across to the star, according to The Detroit Free Press, who first reported the story.

The social media campaign organized by the friends and family began with the Twitter hashtag #GetGarmoToMeetEminem, which seems to have done the trick.

Only last week, the ailing teen was giving just about a few days to live, by the doctors, who said his condition was deteriorating by the day.

Speaking on the star's visit, Rainbow Connection's executive director Mary Grace McCarter said, "We're so glad we were able to reach Eminem's people and they were able to respond, and Eminem was able on such short notice to go and see this boy in his own home," according to ET.

The family hadn't seen their son smile in a long time. The star's visit did certainly help the dying teen have a happy day indeed. Garmo and Eminem spent around an hour together in the family's living. The teen chatted happily with his idol, just the day before his death.
