Elevation worship, Maverick City Premieres 'Names' Performance Video, 250 Million Streams Later
What initially started out as a series of songwriting camps has since given birth to the multimillion-streaming, Dove-, Billboard Music Award-nominated worship supergroup that is redefining a genre for an entire generation: Maverick City Music.
What even is CCM? Contemporary Christian Music, and it's a beautiful blend of so much: pop, gospel, R&B, and rock. Easily written off as "Jesus music," it is a global music movement that has broken its way into many mainstream spaces and charts, even the Billboard 200!
Recently, Maverick City Music released their project Old Church Basement - a collaboration album with fellow CCM collective Elevation Worship - and the success it has seen is tremendous. The album hit No.1 on the Billboard Christian and Gospel Charts and even broke records on both Spotify and Apple Music: Worldwide record for most First-Day Album Streams for Christian/Gospel Album on Apple Music and Most Album Streams in a Day from a Christian Group on Spotify.
Just yesterday afternoon, the group unveiled a new performance video, entitled "Names," from the new album, and thousands of fans tuned in for the premiere to show their support, while gaining some inspiration at the same time. The video already has over 190K streams, adding to the millions they already have and continue to earn. Check out "Names" and some of their other videos from the new album -
