'Elementary' Season 5 Spoilers: 'True Blood' Nelsan Ellis Debuts As Shinwell Johnson?
"True Blood" star Nelsan Ellis is set to debut as Shinwell Johnson in the upcoming season of "Elementary."
Shinwell Johnson was created by "Sherlock" author Sir Arthur Conan Doylein and was first introduced in his 1924 story titled "The Illustrious Client." In "Elementary" season 5, the ex-criminal will try to get his normal life back after spending years behind bars by making use of his illicit connections to solve a volatile case.
Reports suggest that the upcoming series will follow Shinwell as he leverages his old connections to help out his old acquaintance, Joan Watson, in resolving a murder case. In the series, Watson and Shinwell had their first encounter years ago, when Watson was still working as a surgeon. According to rumors, she will convince Holmes to put him on the proverbial payroll next season.
As Shinwell involves himself in the investigation of a case involving a serial bomber who remained quiet for years before becoming active once more, some will be in danger. The case they are dealing with is going to be very dangerous that it could put the lives of many characters in jeopardy.
"Elementary" serves as Ellis' most high-profile television stint since "True Blood" season 7 wrapped up. He is set to appear in at least three episodes in the upcoming series.
In other news, Gregson will get a second chance at love as Paige returns next season. Based on spoilers, the former New York PD detective will come back to patch things up with Gregson.
"Elementary" season 5 premieres on October 2, 10:00 P.M. on CBS.
