'Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited' PS4 & Xbox One News: Console Copy Will Not Need CD Key, Says Bethesda [VIDEO]
Many console gamers are looking forward to picking up their copies of 'Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited' on either PS4 or Xbox One on its release date next month. However, some questions have come up about the trade-in or exchange value of the game after its purchase.
ESO fans from all over are asking the question: will the game have a one-time activation key or registration code stopping them from trading or borrowing the game?
While at first it may have seemed that a single use CD key would be way Bethesda would go about the Playstation and Xbox versions, however, that's not the case.
Stepping back, a representative of the game developer said recently, "To clarify, you will need a unique game registration code in order to play the game, and used copies will not be eligible to receive a key if the code has already been redeemed."
This left many potential players troubled as 'Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited' would have pretty much no resale or trade-in value.
Since then, Bethesda has gone ahead and revised its initial statement, clarifying that the game will work if it is traded from friend to friend, or store to store.
According to an official Twitter post, "The physical console version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited does not require a one-time game code," a representative said.
Adding, "As with any other boxed PS4/Xbox One game, only the game disc is needed for verification. Any previous statements counter to this were incorrect."
On that note, gamers looking to pick up a copy of 'ESO: TU' for the Playstation 4 or Xbox One can do so on June 9, 2015.
