'EA Sports UFC 2' Review Roundup and Gameplay Tips: Overhauled Features Promises Better Gaming Experience?
"UFC 1" was an introduction to the world of the MMA, while also teaching gamers of real-world techniques in fighting, but the reviews were quite tepid
The "EA Sports UFC 2," however, is a whole different level, which is probably why the game is getting only positive reviews.
Creative director Brian Hayes told iDigital Times, "We realized that there's a diverse environment of UFC fans, and we had to find a way to put something in there for every single one of them."
For one, the mechanics between "EA Sports UFC 2" and "UFC 1" are night and day, according to multiple reviews.
"There's a big focus on new knockout physics," he said of the Knockout Mode. "It's one of those things that everybody loves no matter what kind of user you are, whether you're the hardcore online gamer who likes to be competitive, or someone who likes to mess around with his friends."
"The next part is that we create experiences in the game for everyone of those users to enjoy the gameplay. There has to be a mode for every fight fan and we give them the tools to master this game and make sure that 'Finish the fight' moment is emotionally stunning."
Here are just some of the gameplay tips for "EA Sports UFC 2":
- In Knockout Mode, enable parry recovery so you can regain a point if you can block an attack.
- Train wisely. The game is based on real-world mechanics so that means the harder you train, there's a higher probability that you are going to risk an injury. In fact, you are going to risk retirement of your player due to injury.
- Watch UFC and study your players' strengths and weaknesses. While the characters in "EA Sports' UFC 2" have signature modes, there are nuances to their game that you probably have not noticed before. You can use these when you play next.
While gameplay tips might probably give you an edge, just like in real life there's no better way to improve but to practice and practice in "EA Sports UFC 2."
