E3 2015 Leaks: What to Expect from This Year’s Video Game Trade Event [VIDEO]
All eyes are now focused on what announcements major video game developers and publishers like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Electronic Arts (EA) and others will be making at the three-day Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015, which kicks off at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 16. While it is confirmed that a few titles including 'Fallout 4' will be unveiled at the event, which will also mark the return of the Nintendo World Championships.
According to IB Times, there have been a few E3 leaks regarding the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Some of the latest developments are discussed below.
All Storage, No Hardware
As Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One approach their second anniversary, both companies are working to enhance the user experience of their respective consoles. Before E3, Microsoft announced a 1TB storage version of the Xbox One while overhauling the controller to incorporate a headset jack. The Guardian reports that gamers can now expect a 1TB version of the PS4. Keeping in view the DLC, patches as well as downloads taken by the games, these upgrades are welcome.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is expected to unveil its much-anticipated NX console, which is rumored to run on Android, at the upcoming E3. However, many expect that Nintendo endeavor to get the maximum out of the Wii U prior to turning its attention to a new console.
Focus on Virtual Reality
In the absence of any new console at the E3, it is expected that virtual reality will take center stage at event. This is because it is the latest thing to expect in the video game industry. As Oculus has already unveiled its Rift headset and touch controller in a press conference ahead of the E3, it is likely that the game enthusiasts will see some of the games in action. VentureBeat reports that as many as 22 VR companies will be attending the trade show. According to Destructoid, the event will see a VR treadmill, additional VR headsets for phones, a VR camera and a data glove. In addition, it is expected that games for Sony's Project Morpheus VR headset may also be featured at E3, in addition to Microsoft HoloLens.
New Games at E3
No E3 event would ever be complete without games. While 'Fallout 4' is a highlight of the upcoming event, many fans are keenly awaiting 'Halo 5: Guardians' and 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.' Sony will also showcase its upcoming game 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End,' but the Japanese company has announced that 'No Man's Sky' will not feature in its press conference. Other anticipated games include 'Kingdom Hearts III,' 'Rise of the Tomb Raider,' and 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.'
PC Gaming and Hardware at E3
Meanwhile, PC gaming as well as hardware will have its individual stage at the upcoming E3. The PC Gaming Show will be held at Belasco Theater on June 16 and will feature Blizzard, Xbox and Square Enix among others. In addition, Dell will showcase its Alienware Steam Machine at the conference.
