'Duke Nukem' News & Update: The King Is Back On Track, Details To Be Unveiled
"Duke Nukem" is bound to hit the gaming realm once again, as per reports.
According to Game Spot, a "Duke Nukem 3D" remake is set to be announced next week. The details came from Redditor Tezla55, who wrote on the forum threat that the new "Duke Nukem" game being teased was called "Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour." The forthcoming title is being developed by Nerve Software.
Tezla55 that title information and screenshots have been leaked and are official. The Redditor said that the title was a "Duke 3D" remaster and fans and gamers could see the game as a "Duke Nukem 3D" remix as there would be a handfful of new and original content. Based on his knowledge, the screenshots were sets of press shots that would be released in the future.
Meanwhile, the content of the "Duke Nukem" official webpage has intensified the rumors about the title's release. The website displays a banner that reads "Happy 20th Anniversary," along with "Coming Soon" and a countdown, which says seven days and nine hours at the time of writing.
The page also contains the title's social media accounts - Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
On Aug. 24, "Duke Nukem" tweeted the hero's photo on Twitter and in caption, it wrote "The King is back. Line up, ladies." The same image was posted on Instagram on Aug. 25.
On Aug. 25, the game creators revived the title's Facebook page, saying that it was the "Duke Nukem" Community and PR team and they were happy to announce that Duke was now on Twitter. The latest post, which was about giving away Duke's throne to an avid fan, was made on May 8, 2012.
"Duke Nukem" is Gearbox Software and Interceptor Entertainment's video game series named for its hero of the same name. The first game for the series was titled "Duke Nukem," but was changed to "Duke Nukum" due to trademark issues.
