Duke Blue Devils News: Five-Star Point Guard Frank Jackson Commits to Duke

The Duke Blue Devils will be getting another five-star recruit as Frank Jackson of Highland (Utah) Long Peak has verbally committed to the defending champions.

"I'll be going to Duke next season," Jackson told Scout in an exclusive interview. "When I went on my visit, it was pretty clear that it was the best spot for me and I felt really comfortable with it. I made the decision to go there."

As noted by Scout, the talented guard took an official visit to the Duke campus this past weekend. Duke's recruitment of Jackson picked up steam back in mid-June when coach Mike Krzyzewski offered him a scholarship.

"When they offered me, I was definitely eager," Jackson said. "It's every kids' dream to be able to play basketball for Coach K and be a Duke Blue Devil. Really, when I was on that visit and in the room with Coach K, I just kind of felt something and it felt completely right. It was the right decision for me."

As noted by the Scout report, interest for the 6-3 combo guard rose following his exploits on the court this past summer, but other suitors that included Stanford, Utah and BYU were ultimately beaten by the ACC powerhouse.

"It's Duke Basketball," was Jackson's succinct explanation when asked about his decision. "The history behind the school is amazing. They've had so much success. They've been a powerhouse for so many years now."

Adding, "Coach K is one of the greatest coaches of all time. Playing for him is a true honor. I've gotten to know him very well actually and he's a man I respect very much. I'm going to put my trust in him and that's what I'm doing right now. He's going to make me a better basketball player and he's going to get my body ready for the next level. I just think Duke is the best spot for me."
